Florida fun.
Well I am back from Florida. I want to go back! Sure it was hotter then NY but…well it was Florida and I got to see Megan. Needless to say it was a good trip. Her mom’s wedding was nice, check my pictures section soon for pictures. It was a blessedly short outdoor ceremony (blessedly short because it was HOT). Then the reception was inside a much cooler tent/pavilion thing. There was good food, free alcohol, and a really good singer/DJ guy. All in all a nice day. This weekend I also met Megan’s family for the first time. As far as I can tell they liked me, as if there was ever any doubt
I mean who doesn’t like me? But they were all really nice and about as crazy as my family so it really wasn’t all that different then being back home. She even has a crazy dog, a tiny little Pomeranian named “puddles”. Most of the time hes a nice little ball of fuzz, unless some one is holding him as which time he becomes crazy jealous and tried to eat me. Which is really funny because he is really snack sized so really not that scary. We really didn’t do too much in the way of tourist stuff while I was there but just hanging out was fine with me. We did make it to the beach where we both got too much sun, as evidence by my still sore and red shoulders. Monday we went to see Spiderman 2 which I thought was alright. Not as good as the first. They sort of spent too much time with Peter Parker whining about how much being Spiderman sucks. But even with that it was still a good summer blockbuster type movie. Then Monday night I had to fly back here to NY so I could make it to work today. Blah! I still would rather be in FL.
Speaking of work, today at the lab was alright. We got to do our known samples again for GC/MS, and this time had Bob there so there was more direction (ie. We knew what the hell was going on this time) They say we should be done-done and doing real cases around the first week of September now. Originally it was a bit earlier, but with our stupid rip and strip project thing going on stuff got pushed back a bit. Eh. What can you do?
On a totally unrelated note and thanks to google I found that some totally random person (in Canada none the less) had linked to my page off of his weblog. From the little reading I’ve done (and according to the little bio he has in his first entry) his name is Martin and he is from “Palgrave, Ontario, Canada.” and is “a molecular biologist by training”. Nifty eh? I have no idea who he is, but from the picture of him at a Monty Python party with a dead parrot on his shoulder, he seems to be as big a science geek as I am. He linked to “The Bricklayer’s Song” I have in my music section. I guess I just find it interesting to know that random Canadians link to my site.
Captain Science.com….first North America….then THE WOLRD!!!!!
Now I just need a secret volcano layer and a death laser and I will be all set.
Ahh…good times, good time. Well I must go. Sleep calls and after not getting to bed last night till 1230 I can use all the sleep I can get tonight.
Nighty night all!
