The RIAA took my tacos away…

Went shopping today and though…”mmm tacos would be good for dinner this week” ….when I find my tacos I see I can also get a free song off of Itunes.

Tacos and Free Music, a tad random but who am I to turn down either so I bought it. Now I know that the whole file sharing, free music thing is a big issue these days but I was still a touch surprised when I noticed this on the side of my box of taco mix:

Just think it’s a touch amusing that they feel the need to remind me not to steal music on the side of my box of taco mix. Good thing they put it there though. My perfect Sunday night is to make up a plate of tacos and eat them while pirating CD’s all night! But now because of their warning the recording industry is safe and can manage one more day with out going into bankruptcy!

Towel Day

May 25th is Towel Day!
To quote from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitch hiker can have. Partly it has great practical
value – you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you – daft as a bush, but very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

shirts…

I had a quasi productive weekend this weekend. Saturday I took the bus to the mall and got some much needed shirts and pants. Something a tad more dressy then t-shirts. Ended up with a few polo type shirts and a buttony one (JC Pennys had a buy one get one for a penny sale). I also ogled the home theater sets at Best Buy but they will have to wait till I have access to a car because they come in a big heavy box that would suck to carry home on the bus.
I also did a lot of cleaning and throwing away this weekend, got my one closet really cleaned out, still a good deal of crap in it but way less then before. Meg has claimed it for when she moves in so I figured it was best to get a head start on it. It also is just something that was much needed and the impending Meg-a-fying of my appt. just gave me a good reason to do it.

Have to go back to work tomorrow. Meh! Talked with the supervisor about the frustrations I have been having with QC, and still might have a talk with the acting lab mgr. anyway because he seemed interested in still getting a chance to listen to my ranting so why not? Just have to wait and see.

if the earth were a sandwich

Frustrated

Frustrated with work this week!
Seems every day this week I have had to fix things that I am told aren’t errors, appear in no manual or SOP, and are only wrong based on ONE persons opinion. It also doesn’t help much when your supervisor will never back up the people in her group, when said errors are sited, and on one occasion just asks why I am being “difficult” in not just fixing something on MY report that isn’t wrong. While I don’t care about the errors per-say, they track them but since I find most of them so random and arbitrary anyway I don’t let it bother me.
It’s just getting to me I suppose, the little things EVERY day add up over the course of the week and leave me….well frustrated I guess.

Ok enough venting for now, tomorrow is Friday and I have the weekend to relax and not think about stupid blue post-it notes.

On the plus side the girl is supposed to graduate August 4th so woot for that, and for a trip to FL to see her graduate.

Over already???

Sigh, How is it Sunday night already? I did nothing this weekend and yet it still went by all too fast. Saturday I did get out for a little to enjoy the nice weather (and to hit the wine store). I also managed to clean out one of my closets a little, got rid of an old computer and tried my old one out one last time and amazingly it started up. So I transfered the last few bits of stuff off there, and then securely deleted any of the personal stuff. But the closet still has a way to go, and seeing as Meg has claimed it for when she moves up here I guess I ought to keep at it. Today I was even more lazy.

But alas it must come to an end, and I must go back to work tomorrow. Really not feeling it, and jealous that Jen has the week off! Sure I had my turn the week before but still!

Back to work again…

Meg is back in FL. She flew out yesterday morning and made it home around 2:30 p.m. , sadly it was sans-luggage. Thats two times in a row that Delta has misplaced her suitcase for a few hours…what are the odds right? Luckily when I talked to her last night at 10 it had already arrived, and I suppose its better to be without luggage when you are already home instead of somewhere else on vacation.

Sigh…well it’s back to work today. Already likely have court later this week (work called Friday to warn me and to make sure I was coming back today :) ) I also found out via a co-worker that my training in the hairs and fibers will be delayed as they revamp the program a bit or something like that (I missed the meeting but will likely find out today)

Well it’s early so no pithy closing words….I’m off to shower and get ready work….envy me! :)

Skipping a day…

Meg is here and we have been having a great week so far. This vacation is a lot more low key then then last one. No trip to CT and really no super SET plans. Yesterday we went into the city and spent the day at the bookstore (we both had gift cards to burn though) and did some other random shopping around there. We also stopped at “Economy Candy” on the way home which is this great/famous candy store her in NY that has everything. Literally! They have more candy then I have ever seen, a lot of random/hard to find stuff to. I got a bunch of British and other foreign candy bars (Violet Crumbles, and Aero bars) and Meg got some cinnamon gummy bears and a few other random things. Mmmm. All in all a really fun day. We were out from like 11am – 6pm so while we had planned on going to the MET today, we decided to take a day off and go tomorrow since it really doesn’t matter that much.

I’m just sad that the week is already half over and that I am that much closer to having to go back to work :(
