The Moo Moo’s

Found 6-22-06 in front of a convenience store on the corner of Myrtle ave and Woodhaven Blv. –

This originally caught my eye because of the large amount of writing on it, not until I picked it up and turned it over did I realize that it was actually a post card.

-Notice the to and from addresses are the same and the lack of a stamp.

-See the “Moo Moo’s” drinking water and the clouds “comeing in”.

-With the lack of question marks will we ever know if it’s going to rain??? (I added two extra ones there to make up for the missing ones)

Finally for those who may accuse me of unfairly mocking what likely are the writings of some young child, all I have to say is….yeah, your right I am.

PS. Just because I have had 2 found posts in two days don’t expect regular daily updates. I will add more as fate allows me to find.

The Burning Questions of Bingo Brown

So inspired by Found Magazine and possible thanks to my new scanner, I though I would try posting picts. of some of the stranger/more unusual stuff that I have come across. Said stuff will include anything from photographs to notes and other random items I come across.

For our first entry I present to you the 4 line book report for a children’s book called “The Burning Questions of Bingo Brown”.

I found this walking to work one day along side Forest Park. Never having read the book I guess I am in no place to comment on the accuracy of the review but it seems to cover the important points of a plot summary…there is Bingo and it seems he is a “trouble boy” and one day “took a medicine”. Works for me.

Fun with plastic bags…

Jen left this morning, but not until I got her some real NYC bagels. The rest of our stay in NH was uneventful. We left Saturday morning after breakfast at the hotel and made a side trip to Best Buy in Salem,NH on the way home. I got my home theater system, nothing too fancy but its got 5 speakers and the subwoofer and a built in DVD. Sounds really nice, though we only got to try it out on one movie so really haven’t put it though its paces yet. Because the model I wanted was on sale I was able to get a new printer/scanner/copier too. It’s got a insane number of features but does a good job of printing and scanning. I even tired out the photo printing with the sample paper they gave me and the pictures of Jen’s cat Walter. Maybe the best part though was the plastic bag that held the printer! Check out a scan:

I don’t know what’s better…the sad choking guy or the baby with the plastic bag over its head….or that some graphic designer somewhere was assigned to make up a graphic of a baby with a plastic bag over its head! Yah…nothing looks better on the old resume than “suffocated baby”.

Anyway after the trip to buy toys we kept driving, making another side trip for falafel at Mamouns in New Haven. Mmmm…falafel!

We finally made it back to my appt. and just relaxed for the rest of the night. Ordered pizza (Jen just needed another real NYC pizza fix) and watched a movie on my new system.

After Jen was on her way home I did my usual Sunday crap, laundry and tried to clean up some around the appt. which mostly involved dealing with the printer and theater boxes and packaging. Whee!

All in all it was a really fun (long) weekend and great to get to see Jen again, it’s been way too long. Sadly tomorrow is Monday and back to work time. These weekend’s just ARE not long enough!

Live from NH…

I’m in New Hampshire right now posting wirelessly from the Best Western. Road trip from NYC to here with Jen went fine today. We stopped for food and stuff to help break up the trip a bit but it wasn’t all that bad. Tomorrow we have her sister’s HS graduation and then little BBQ with her family after. Friday night we might get to hang out with one of Jen’s friends from livejournal assuming there is nothing going on with her family still. Then Saturday morning its back to NYC to relax and hang out enjoying REAL NYC pizza and bagels before Jen has to make the uber long drive home Sunday morning.

So yah for a change this will be quite the busy weekend!

Woo hoo…four day weekend…

Today is the last day of the work week for me. Woo! Jen is coming back east for her sister’s graduation up in NH and is going to swing by NYC so I can come along and crash the graduation. Really it’s just so we can hang out since we haven’t seen each other since November when she was last up this way. I keep wanting to visit her out in K-Zoo so I can see the wonders the city has to offer but I just can’t ever seem to manage it time wise. No super specific plans other then go up to NH Thursday, do the graduation Friday and then head back to NYC early Saturday so we can hang out at my appt. and enjoy the wonders of REAL NYC pizza.

Oh yah, we may try and stop at a Best Buy on the way back so I can blow the last of my saved tax refund money on a cheap home theater system and maybe a printer, have to see how much everything costs. I really am tying to save as much money as I can for when the girl gets here in August, but seeing as odds are our primary activity will be watching a lot of DVDs at my appt. till we can get a bit more money to go out and do stuff, a good sound system will be a nice to have.

Though I am sure we will manage to see some of the cheaper sites in the City, plus Meg’s old friend Sarah is planning to move to the City soon so I’m sure she will want to see her and what not. It will be good that there will be someone other then me that Meg will know around here, should make the move and transition a bit easier. Though from the stories I have been told about their adventures back in TN I also fear for the city of New York!

More stuff…

Back to work this morning…whee! Worked Saturday which was fine actually. Saturdays tend to be either really easy cases or REALLY bad ones, so I lucked out!

Sunday was the typical stuff, Laundry and Shopping and what not. Got my hairs cut and stopped at a tag sale on the way home:

Got all that for 1$! Guy was desperate to get rid of everything by that point. Brings back memories of when we had the estate sale after my Grandmother died, by the end we were just giving stuff away basically just to get rid of it.

Also did a little more cleaning up around here, getting ready for the girl in August (eep…less than 2 months) I have to get some furniture for her I suppose too…bookcase and dresser at the very least…hello Ikea. But before that I will hopefully be taking a mini-road trip with Jen in 2 weekends when she’s up this way for her sisters graduation. She was just going to stop by for a afternoon on her way home but I figured why not make a long weekend out of it and invade her sisters gradation so we can hang out for the weekend so that will be fun! (I promised her some real NY Pizza and Bagels).
