Just Like On CSI…unfortunately

Well today was fun. It being Friday today was my day to work down in the hair and fiber section and process a case. So far the cases I have had have been alright, until today. The voucher was deceptively innocent looking. 3 bed sheets…how bad could that be? Answer: really bad when they come from a homicide case. So far I only did 2 of the three sheets but the 2 I did were bad enough. Soaked in dried blood and other…fluids. Covered in hairs and dead bugs/bug casings, and permeated with the smell of death. Good times! Needless to say it was less then a fun day in the processing room. I have one last item waiting for me next Friday, I guess for once I WONT be eagerly awaiting a Friday at the end of the week! Blah!

And speaking of blah I have to go in for OT tomorrow (just in the drug section though) so yeah…double whee!

take me out to the ball game…

Tonight we had our free baseball game all thanks to my blood. And by free I mean free tickets, we probably spent 50$ on parking and food for the night but it was fun. I’ve lived in NY 2.5 years now and this was my first NY baseball game. Granted I am still more of a Red Socks fan but a free game is a free game. They played FL tonight, and lost. So Meg was happy she got to watch her home state team win a game. All in all a fun evening.

Not much else of note going on. Meg is still looking for a job so I am getting dinners cooked for me most nights :) and the lab is still the lab. Wacky as ever. Did get a largish case this week, over 100LB’s of Pot so that was something different. Tomorrow is Friday so that means I get to play with hairs and fibers. Which is always fun. I think I am starting to get the hang of working down there once a week, it’s just the reports I am a bit unsure on still.

No plans yet this weekend, probably just take it easy. Some weekend soon I want to take Meg up to CT or MA to see the leaves, growing up down south she’s never really gotten to see that on-mass the way us northerners do every year. Also I’d like to try and find some real cider soon, none of that pasteurized crap! I want a beverage that can potentially kill me!

Otherwise what’s the point? :)

Woo for the Book Barn…

After a busy week of work (with some on Saturday to boot) the girl and I decided to take a road trip to The Book Barn today up in CT. We got 13$ for the books we brought with us to sell which was nice, though we ended up spending way more then that on the books we found. Meg really liked the place, not only for the books, but also for all the cats they have running around the place. She REALLY want’s a pet, so I can totally see a cat here in my appt. in the near future. (She would prefer a dog but thats just not going to happen in an appt this small, there’s barely enough room for the 2 of us in here :) )

Back to work tomorrow. Sigh! At least I am done in the admin office! Not that it was SO bad in it self. Buy trying to split admin office, case work, and hair and fiber each week was getting a bit much.

Ok Simpsons time!
