Given it was such a nice day the girl and I walked down to the street fair they were having along Myrtle:

Meat and Corn!

Funnel Cakes and Fried Oreos!!! Mmmmm!

A happy Meg about to get funnel cakes and fried oreos!

We had a nice little time walking along the street. It was way more crowded then I care fo,r but that’s to be expected for such an event. Plus it was just way too nice out not to get outside at least a little today.

Just like…

Over heard on the hot super crowded bus yesterday on my way home:
To his friend: “Damn son, this is just like being back in central booking”
Friend: “No doubt”

I ever say how much I love public transportation some times?

So it goes.

End of vacation

Another vacation almost over. Sigh!

Late Thursday Jenn and her boy David flew down from MI for a visit. Because it was late and I am a big baby they took a cab from the airport to my appt. but because of the wonders of JFK and their baggage handling they didn’t get here till 12:45 am. Friday the four of us went down to the bronx zoo (pictures are up) and had a fun, all be it slightly cold/windy day but got to see lots of animals (I love monkeys) and then that evening we got real New York pizza at Jenn’s request from the place down the street. Saturday we slept in and did some visiting and uh…tourist stuff. Sunday we again took it easy and went down to Atlas for lunch, shopping, and the four of us went to see Grindhouse, which apparently I was the only one to really like. That night we went to the diner for dinner and just hung out at the appt. being geeks.

Here’s a phone cam. pict David took of Meg and Jenn drawing on their place-mats:

Meg And Jenn

Sadly, they had to head home today so this morning we dropped them off at the airport so they could head back to MI. Meg and I are just using the rest of the day to take it easy and clean up some now that our guests are gone (didn’t want to waste time with dishes while we had company)

Tomorrow it’s back to work, though I can’t even escape work while on vacation because I got a call and was told my first day back will likely be spent at court. Ah well.

Anyway best to go and enjoy the last few hours of my vacation…5:30 am will come all to soon tomorrow!

Back In NYC

Got back to NYC yesterday. The drive was just oodles of fun with rain following us the entire way. Still we made it just fine, with a car full of stuff we bought or otherwise acquired in Hartford. Some how we found room for all the stuff and got the appt. in some sort of order for our guests who should be arriving in about 3 hours. Woo!

Tomorrow will be Jenn, David, Meg, and Andrew at the zoo. Expect many pictures of monkeys! :)

Yes, it’s Vacation time again! Woo! Friday was a lot of fun because not only was it my Birthday but it was also my last day working for a whole week. Friday night we went out for my Birthday Dinner at the German Restaurant where I got Wienerschnitzel which was SOOOO good. After we went home and I had my birthday cheese cake that Meg made all by her self.

Right now the girl and I are in CT staying at my parents house. They are still on their anniversary cruise and will be back later tonight. While in CT we are going to do a few little day trips and what not, nothing too exciting but fun none the less. Then on Thursday night Jenn and David fly in and will be spending a long weekend in NYC with us where we will do some touristy stuff like going to the Zoo!

So far Connecticut has been MOSTLY uneventful except for…well look at the picture and judge for your self:

Blankethole

As far as I can tell he must of eaten the missing piece because we can’t find it anywhere in the house. After a semi-late night call to my mom’s friend who works for a vet, we are just keeping an eye on him for now and hopefully..er…everything will come out alright in the end ;)

Anyway now breakfast and later the Bookbarn and maybe a walk on the beach!
