and if a double decker bus crashes into us…
Meg’s family is back safe and sound in Florida! But they made sure to squeeze in all the NYC they could before the left.
Sunday, we all went down into the city and began our day shopping on Canal St. So needless to say I was in hell while the ladies all had a grand old time shopping for quasi-legal purses and perfumes. Given that I don’t care about purses, legal or not, I was just a bit bored. Meg did find a nice art store down there though that we will be going back to at some point.
We then headed over to Spring St with the intent of lunch at Lombardis pizza, but my price for putting up with purse shopping was making everyone stop at Evolution NYC to see the Skeletons and other wacky things. Like this:
Everyone liked the store, though sadly I didn’t come home with any skeletons, but it was damn tempting.
After lunch we did a little more shopping in the area (her sister likes to shop) and Meg found a great paper/craft type store that was moving so she got some journal stuff cheap.
After all that we headed to the Time Square area because her mom wanted to do one of those double decker bus tours. I have to admit I was a tad mortified at first but she paid and I figured I would make the best of it and do the tourist thing. The tour it self was nice, and I did get to see some areas I rarely/never go, and some that I am at all too often like the court/city hall area where we were informed Law and Order some times films. So we drove around on the bus and saw the sights (highlight for me was the big apple cube store on 5th ave
)
When we got off the bus we made a quick trip to the M&M store…it has what yah would guess, everything M&M. Then did dinner at some chinese place a few blocks from Time Square, which I have to say was quite reasonably priced for where it was located.
We didn’t get back to the appt till almost midnight, which made for a late night for me, what with work today. But I survived and everyone had a nice visit. Next time we see them will be at her sisters wedding this summer. Which should be quite an adventure in it self!
