Alan Alda
Tonight after work I had the girl meet me in the city and we went to the Barnes and Noble at Union Square to see Alan Alda who was giving a talk and signing his new book. We never take advantage of stuff like this which is silly seeing as it’s all of a 30 minute subway ride away.
He was very funny and talked mostly about stuff from his life (which I guess is what his new book is about, but in a funny way) He is a great speaker. I have always liked him from Scientific American Frontiers on PBS (I watched and enjoyed that before I was old enough to appreciate M*A*S*H)
After we didn’t stick around for the book signing, mostly because we were both starving, so we went and got us some dinner at Heartland (its Pumpkin Ale season…mmmm).
We both agreed we have to try and do stuff like this more often, it was a really fun night.
