My journey to the island
So today I finally got to experience the splendor and wonder that is Staten Island. Some how in the 3.5 years I have lived in NYC I just never seemed to make it out there, until today. Court decided my presence was needed today so I got to head on over there. Thing is from Queens the trip to Staten Island, is a good 3 hour trip (Subway to Subway to Ferry to Buss to walk 2 blocks). I do have to say at least I had good weather for the trip and the ferry ride was nice. I told Meg we will have to go some time just for fun, not to actually do anything on Staten Island mind you, just to ride the ferry and back.
Tomorrow I get to make my 4th (and God willing final) attempt at the DMV. I went this past Tuesday and got as far as them typing stuff into the computer, which is more then I ever got before. This time the FL title was missing a digit in the middle of the VIN number so I have to come back with a photograph of the physical VIN plate on the dash. I am bring a 8.5X11 print which should be sufficient. Ideally I will actually get the car registered this time and get some license plates so I can, you know, drive it around again. Then I have to face getting the damn thing inspected which I am sure will go as poorly as the DMV visits have, but I will face that hurdle if/when I get to it. Stupid car!
On the plus side I also have tomorrow off and will be meeting up with Val after the DMV. Some thing with the people from the cast of Rent are gona be at some music store in the city and she is crazy to go and didn’t have anyone with go with. It also helps that the place is all of 2 blocks from the Manhattan court area which I know quite well from all my visits to testify so I will make a decent guide. We will likely meet up with Meg after she gets out of work and all do dinner or something together (assuming the poor girl is feeling better, she has some form of a head cold or something but managed to drag her self into work today never the less).
Ok bed time. Looks to be a busy day tomorrow!
