Been a few weeks since my last post. Nothing really earth shattering/postworthy has been going on. We went CT for turkey day which was nice. We ate way too much and visited the book barn on black friday.
Work has been good, last two weeks I have been learning all about scanning electron microscopes. I never really knew THAT much about them before the class, but now that we are done I realize just how much I didn’t know!
Still it was interesting.
The girl and I are visiting FL in a few weeks for an early Christmas with her family. Should be fun and will be another chance to get to play with my new camera, which by the way I am still in love with. We stopped at Rocky Neck beach after the book barn last week but I only really got to stay for a little bit because it was too damn cold! You can see a few of the decent shots I was able to get on my flickr page.

So I finally got my new toy, a Nikon D50 digital SLR camera! I was going to get an Ipod touch but after figuring what it would cost once I got the ipod, a case, ect. I could get this sexy new camera instead. I have been wanting a digital SLR for a while now. While I still like my little point and shoot Sony digital I have lost to many great shots to a shutter delay or blurry picture. So far I have only been able to play with my new toy around the appt. but hopefully this weekend I will get to go outside and use it some around in the park or even just the streets around where we live. It will obviously also be coming with us to CT for Thanksgiving next week (woo for being approved to take Friday off), though I am sure that Meg will try and steal the camera to take more pictures of the dogs!

So its November first which means it is the start of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Something that was utterly meaningless to me until I started living with a writer. The girl is taking part this year and hence has now switched to “NaNoWriMo Mode” which means that everything and everyone takes second place to word counts and story planning. I don’t mind, I knew what I was signing up for when we started dating. Even so I threw together two quick LJ icons for my self and others to use as a means of showing solidarity as NaNoWriMo widows/widowers:
Enjoy!
