So after getting the car “…injected, inspected, detected, infected, neglected and selected” it is finally all legal. Of corse as I say this a meteorite or something is falling from space targeted right for the damn thing. Still it’s good to finally be done with it after all this time.
Still alive »« Back from CT
We are back from CT. Left early so we could stop and get groceries on the way and have some time to relax and unpack back at the appt. Connecticut was nice for the weekend. Saturday we did a little shopping (X-mass tree shops what not, plus a lunch of super cheese burgers at shady glen). Then Saturday night we went to a Hartford Wolfpack game with my parents. None of us are really huge hockey fans but we wanted to do something different. It was really a lot of fun. Meg has never been to a hockey game before so after giving her the basic rundown of how it is played (which mind you was only based on my most basic understanding of the game) she ended up really liking it. Though I think her truly favorite parts were the zambonis.
But now we are back in NYC. Back to work for me tomorrow, probably have to go to court, whee! Still no word on our promotions, the current rumor is that they are doing them on Thursday this month so we will find out this Wednesday if we are going this month so I am keeping my fingers crossed! At some point I will have to bring the car back in to get the final inspection now that everything is fixed and I have had some time to drive it around and reset the computer. Fun fun!
I’ve never had to knock on wood… »« joys of car ownership
Finally was forced to take the car back to the auto shop to deal with the stuff that was keeping it from passing the inspection (read:parking enforcement ticketed me for not having a current sticker). 800$ later it all should be fixed now. I have to drive the car some to reset the computer or some such thing so the girl and I are going to go up to CT this weekend and visit my parents. Meg has no problem with this plan since it means she gets to see the dogs again. No idea what we will do in CT but I am sure we will think of something.
Work has been going well. I am loving my new assignment down in the trace unit. We are also still training in chemical unknowns, but should be done in a few weeks. And before anyone ELSE asks, no I didn’t have anything to do with anything from the Heath Ledger thing. I don’t think we even got anything in from that case other then the 20$ bill they talked about on the news, and that would of gone to the drug unit where I USED to work. So yah…no involvement…please stop asking
