The girl leaves tomorrow for a trip down to TN/KY to visit some family/friends. This is a “girls only” trip (with her mom and sister) so I will be remaining behind. Sadly no plans for a huge party of anything of the like while I have the place to my self for a few days, just work Saturday and usual errands and what not Sunday. The only bad part of the trip is that she will be down there for her Birthday, the 26th. But we will celebrate with cake and what not once she gets back.
Work has been good. We are getting ready for our mock trial, the last part of our Chemical Unknown training. We spent most of the morning quizzing each other before going over stuff with our new trainer, who will be playing the ADA for our court. It’s tentatively scheduled for some time next week so hopefully by the start of May we will be all finished!
Had to go to court today to testify on an old case from back when I was still in Controlled Substances. When I got off the subway this was the scene that greeted me. From reading the news on the web it had happened about an hour before I got there but still was an impressive sight. The car looked like it jumped the curb, hit the doughnut cart, and then smashed into the steps and railing.
Never a dull day in NYC!
I got this from Meg’s family as a belated birthday present. I also got a gift card for the bookstore from her grand parents earlier in the week. But really…a money rug? How damn cool is that!
